There are special requirements in order for you to use YouTube™ embeds with the EQ Bar in WordPress™ blogs.

You need to use the self-hosted WordPress.org blog software which must be installed on a web hosting account. That is, a blog hosted on WordPress.com will not be able to make use of the EQ Bar. (To find out more about self-hosted WordPress software, please see WordPress Web Hosting.)

In addition, you will need to install a free plugin, the Insere Iframe. ("Insere" is not a typo, it's Portuguese). There are other, similar plugins, but we found Insere to work quite well.

Installation is easy and takes only a few minutes:

  1. Navigate to your WordPress dashboard, for instance http://<mysite.com>/wordpress/wp-admin/index.php

  2. Click the "Plugins" link in the left column. (Note: if you do not see a Plugins link it is because you are not using your own hosted WordPress site, see above.)

    Make sure the "Insere Iframe" is not already installed. If it is already installed, proceed to step 7, otherwise continue.

  3. Click "Add New" under the Plugins menu on the left.

  4. Under the Search section, enter "Insere Iframe" (with quotes) into the search box and click the "Search Plugins" button.

  5. You will see the plugin listed and an "Install" link on the right under "Actions". Click the Install link.

  6. A dialog appears with a big orange "Install Now" button on the right. Click the button.

  7. Once the plugin is installed, there will be an "Actions" menu at the bottom of the installation log (the page where you now should be.)

    Click the "Activate Plugin" link.

Installation and activation of the plugin is complete.


Once the new code is generated and copied, you may now begin a new post, or edit an old post, and paste the new code into the HTML portion of your blog.

Publish the page and make sure the video plays properly and that the EQ Bar appears.

Your YouTube video post can now be sent to billions of devices.
